If you’re taking the kids on holiday this year, you need to check out our guide to family fun in Macau
Some of the best summer activities for families can be found at Macau’s resorts. But not many of them offer an entertaining and interactive getaway where little ones eat, stay, and play for free. Sheraton Grand Macao Hotel’s A Funtastic Family Summer Package does just that: up to two children (aged 12 and under) can stay in the room with parents at no additional cost and have access to a bevy of Sands Resorts’ attractions.

For the full experience, upgrade to a two-bedroom themed Family Suite, pictured above. Featuring DreamWorks animation, each suite is decked out in bright colors, with playful bunk beds, Xbox game consoles, a crafts table, mini bathrobes and more.
2. Break Fast
At the Sheraton’s Feast and Xin restaurants, kids can enjoy a complimentary buffet (breakfast or lunch) when dining with adults, or select a set meal on the house from the children’s menu at Bene.
With three dedicated kid’s zones, the fun never stops. Qube at The Venetian Macao boasts amazing climbing structures with rainbow slides, over and under barriers, a V-Net bridge, and zig-zag climbers. Qube 2 at Sands Cotai Central features two bouncy castles, climbing facilities, foosball and air hockey, slides and more computer games than you could shake a joystick at. Qube Kingdom at The Parisian Macao, measuring more than 20,000 sqft, with indoor and outdoor play areas, features climbing nets and slides, a carousel straight out of Les Jardins de Luxembourg, a ball pool for a pretend snowball fight, and gaming consoles.
4. Cool Off
Escape the heat at Aqua World at The Parisian Macao where toddlers can cool off in the wading pool and mini slides, older kids can frolic at the Jules Verne Airship with water guns, tipping buckets, web crawl tunnels, climbing nets, swinging bridge and two tunnel slides, and big kids and adults alike can plunge down the giant tunnel slides at the Marie Antoinette Tower. Meanwhile, parents can chill out with drinks and small bites from the Pool Bar Kiosk.
No, not that kind of gaming. We’re referring to Planet J, the world’s first Live-Action-Role-Playing theme park, which features more 200 game installations, where children and their families are cast in their own fantasy journey and embark on adventures in a virtual setting. Players are tested on their physical ability and intelligence as they complete quests with the aid of their magic scroll (a small electronic device) to become heroes.
To unwind from an action-filled day, parents can retreat to the hotel’s Shine Spa and soothe their senses with the all-new Stress Relief Therapy. The treatment starts with a refreshing Apple Green Tea Body Scrub, followed by the spa’s signature Sports Therapeutic Massage, the perfect remedy for relieving even the most stubborn knots.
While not part of the package, nothing says “holiday” like dining in a poolside setting under the moonlight. For family fun and a festive atmosphere head to Sala, a lush labyrinth with poolside café that serves a fine weekend barbecue, Sala Churrasco, a Portuguese-style poolside feast served every Friday and Saturday with tapas, a huge selection of traditional salads, grilled European meats and seafood, and desserts.
Sated, mum and dad can pull up a barstool for a cocktail while the kids take in the DreamWorks movie night (on Saturdays and Sundays) by the pool.
